What reflective window film actually is
Reflective window film uses ultra-thin metallic coatings (silver, aluminum, or gold) deposited on optical-PET substrate. The metallic layer produces a mirror-like exterior surface while remaining transparent from the interior — giving occupants outward visibility while blocking inward view during daytime.
The behavior reverses at night: interior lighting makes the interior visible from outside. So reflective film is a daytime privacy solution, not 24-hour. Buyers needing night-time privacy typically specify Total Privacy blackout film or combine reflective film with interior blinds.

SILVER 00 is the total-privacy grade: at 2.1% VLT it rejects 99.5% of infrared and 98.8% of total solar energy, for glazing where no inward view is wanted at all. SILVER 20 through SILVER 50 cover the daytime-privacy volume applications at working vision-glass light levels.
