Custom window tint film, built to your spec

Most buyers choose from the catalog. Some arrive with a spec sheet already written: a VLT their market regulation requires, an IR number the local competition can't reach, or a hue their customers already know them for. LUNOX develops those films to order. The spec is worked out with you, the film is coated in our ISO Class-7 cleanrooms in Gyeonggi-do, and a third-party lab verifies the numbers before production begins.

How a custom program runs

Send the spec sheet. Your target numbers, market, and expected volumes. If you want an existing film matched instead, two rolls of it work just as well. The coating team returns a feasibility verdict within two weeks.
Lab sampling. The line runs A4-size lab samples against your targets, and you receive spectrophotometer curves along with the physical samples. Two or three iterations is typical.
Third-party validation. TÜV or SGS tests the agreed sample against the named ASTM standards. The reports become part of your packaging and distributor documentation.
Pilot run of 500 rolls. Produced under real line conditions with full QC data, so your installers can shrink it and your distributors can shelf it before you commit to volume.
Production. From 2,000 rolls per SKU, on the same cleanroom lines that run our Hyundai and Kia OEM programs. Every roll passes continuous laser optical QC, and each container ships with a CoA.
The spec stays yours. The formulation is held on file under your program only, and single-country exclusivity is available from 5,000 annual rolls.

Why buyers bring their specs here

The lab and the line are in the same building. Spec iterations take days rather than weeks of email through a trading company, and the people answering your feasibility questions are the ones running the coaters.
Custom runs go through OEM-grade QC. Haze, VLT, TSER, and adhesion are checked continuously by laser rather than batch-sampled, so the late rolls in a run measure the same as the first ones.
The numbers are printable. Each program ships with third-party lab reports against named standards, which is what packaging claims need in order to hold up with distributors and market regulators.
30 years of formulation history shortens the search. Most requests land close to an existing formulation family, which is why feasibility answers take two weeks rather than a quarter.

What's the minimum order for custom-spec window film?

2,000 rolls per SKU for a custom formulation. Spec-validation pilot runs of 500 rolls are available before you commit to the full volume. If you want a catalog film under your own brand without any formulation change, private label starts at 500 rolls per SKU.

How long does custom film development take?

Usually 8 to 16 weeks from signed spec sheet to approved pilot roll. Feasibility review by the coating team takes one to two weeks, lab sampling and iteration three to six weeks, third-party validation of the target numbers two to four weeks, and then the pilot run is scheduled. Production of the first full order follows the standard four-to-six-week lead time.

How do I know the custom film will hit the spec numbers?

Every custom program includes third-party validation before full production. TÜV or SGS tests the pilot rolls against named standards, ASTM D1003 for VLT and haze and the recognized solar-energy standards for IR and TSER. The lab reports are yours to use on packaging and distributor spec sheets.

Who owns the custom formulation?

The formulation is held on file under your program and is not offered to other buyers. Single-country exclusivity on a custom spec is available from 5,000 annual rolls. Your packaging dielines and approved proofs also remain yours, and we write that into the contract so your brand identity can travel with you.

Can you match an existing film we currently buy?

In most cases, yes. Send two sample rolls of the film you want matched along with its published spec. The coating team benchmarks it, including the spectrophotometer curve, adhesion, and shrink behavior, and returns a feasibility verdict with a counter-spec within two weeks. Most matches land within measurement tolerance of the original. Where a match is not achievable, you get the gap analysis before any commitment.

What chemistries are available for custom programs?

Nano ceramic (metallic-free and signal-safe), nano carbon (matte and color-stable), hybrid nano-matrix, sputter (multi-layer metal coatings for architectural heat rejection), reflective, safety and security laminates from 2 to 12 mil, and aliphatic-TPU paint protection film. Multi-chemistry programs can be consolidated under one PO template and one CoA format.

What does a custom program cost compared to catalog film?

Expect a premium of 10 to 20% over the equivalent catalog SKU at the same volume, which reflects development time, dedicated line setup, and third-party validation. The premium narrows at distributor volumes. Development itself is not billed separately on programs that go on to production.
