Safety window film is a laminated PET film applied to the interior surface of glass. Under impact — weather, break-in, accidental collision, blast — the film holds the shattered glass fragments bonded together rather than raining shards into the room. That single property drives three application categories:

Injury prevention. Glass shards from broken windows cause tens of thousands of injuries annually in weather events. Safety film keeps the shards bonded to the film surface.
Forced-entry delay. A film-covered window takes 20–90 seconds to breach vs 2–5 seconds for untreated glass. Enough delay to trigger alarms, deter attempts, or allow response.
Ballistic and blast containment. Heavy-gauge safety film (10–12 mil) contains blast energy per GSA test standards and mitigates ballistic threat.
